Gráinne

Gráinne Maher

While millinery framed the face, leather now frames the focus.

From the racetracks of Royal Ascot to the wardrobes of global icons, for over 15 years Gráinne Maher has long been defined by her ability to merge traditional craftsmanship with a rebellious, avant-garde spirit.

Born and raised in Belfast, Gráinne first trained in music before discovering millinery through what she describes as a “eureka moment” after encountering the sculptural work of Irish milliner Philip Treacy. What followed was not simply a career shift, but an artistic awakening.

Her early collections challenged expectations of occasion wear, creating bold, contemporary headpieces for women who wanted something expressive rather than conventional.

Today, alongside her hats, leather bags have become central to her collections. Gráinne approaches design as a form of storytelling through structure. Each hat and handbag begins with a narrative of place, of craft, of identity, translated into clean lines, sculptural forms and carefully chosen materials.

This is fashion as form-making, where material becomes story and structure becomes memory.

Éadach

Éadach by Sara O'Neill

On the North Coast of Ireland, stories travel on the wind, through landscape, folklore and memory.

Sara O’Neill, founder of Éadach, uses fashion as a vehicle for storytelling. Raised in Portrush and shaped by music, subculture and a love of mythology, she learned early how powerful clothing could be. Image, identity and narrative became intertwined.

Éadach began in 2014, when Sara returned home and began illustrating Irish myths, women’s histories and coastal landscapes through hand-drawn prints. Those drawings: swans, horses, wings, architectural fragments, are translated onto silk, linen and natural fibres.

Each garment carries a story of folklore, of Ulster’s mill workers, of women past and present.

Worn on red carpets and collected by devoted customers, Éadach sends Irish stories around the world one garment at a time.

Hope

Hope Macaulay

On the North Coast of Northern Ireland, colour and craft collide in bold, sculptural knitwear.

Hope Macaulay grew up between Magherafelt and Portstewart, surrounded by landscape, texture and creativity. From childhood, she was drawn to making - drawing, experimenting, building worlds through colour. Her grandmother first taught her to knit, planting the seed for what would become a globally recognised brand rooted firmly at home.

After studying Fashion Textiles and working in London, Hope returned to Northern Ireland in 2018. What began as hand-knitting pieces in her bedroom evolved into a family-run luxury knitwear label known for its joyful scale and distinctive needle-free technique.

Today, her statement pieces are worn around the world - yet each garment remains handmade in Northern Ireland by a network of skilled local knitters.

At its heart, this is knitwear as connection: between past and present, maker and wearer, tradition and reinvention.

Kindred of Ireland

Kindred of Ireland

In a final-year university project, a photograph changed everything.

Amy Anderson discovered a newspaper clipping of her grandmother, Winnie, spinning linen in a local mill in Moygashel. The mill had long since closed, the skills were fading and the heritage was slipping quietly into memory.

“Finding that photograph felt like finding a missing piece of my own story...In a way, I like to think of Winnie as the original founder of Kindred of Ireland.”

Founded in Belfast in 2020, the brand is built on Irish linen, not as nostalgia, but as living craft. Working with family-run mills and local seamstresses, Kindred reimagines heritage fabrics for a modern wardrobe.

Characterised by oversized silhouettes, thoughtful construction and rare beetled linen finishes, the garments are designed to give a sense of ceremony in the everyday.

This is luxury rooted in place - where cloth carries memory and making becomes an act of preservation.

Kindred Of Ireland

“We use artisanal methods and collaborate with family run mills across Ireland to make lasting pieces with intergenerational appeal, so you can share them with your kin” - Amy Anderson
