Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience, is launching a unique marine experience initiative to celebrate National Marine Week.

Beginning this weekend and running until August 12th, a variety of marine experts will be at Titanic Belfast to greet visitors of all ages and discuss what lies beneath the surface of the sea during a two-hour multi-experience workshop.

Throughout special daily sessions, Titanic Belfast’s Ocean Exploration Centre will encourage young scientists to take a dip into the ocean through discussion and marine-themed arts and crafts, and exciting hands-on science experiments for intrepid explorers.

Expect other surprises too for all the family to experience, including an insight to a live link from the expedition vessel, E/V Nautilus, under the direction of Dr Robert Ballard, the man who found the wreck of RMS Titanic in 1985.

Also on display will be an ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) from Forum Energy Technologies, similar to that used to investigate the wreck of RMS Titanic.

Titanic Belfast’s Ocean Exploration Manager Susan Heaney said: “We know more about the surface of the moon than we do about our oceans. The potential for new discoveries in the deep sea is simply mind-blowing.”

“Titanic Belfast’s Into The Deep initiative will offer visitors of all ages an unique insight into life under the surface of earth’s final frontier.”

Also, we are delighted to confirm that Ulster Wildlife Trusts' Living Seas experts will be on hand, literally, with their amazing Touch Tanks throughout the second week of Titanic Belfast's Into The Deep festivities.

The Touch Tanks will give visitors the chance to get up close and personal with local marine creatures.

Into The Deep at Titanic Belfast, is hosted in partnership with Cool FM and Downtown Radio. Tune in to these stations for information and Into The Deep competitions.

The first Into The Deep Marine Experience workshop begins on Saturday, July 28 at 10am.

Monday-Saturday sessions take place at 10am, 1pm and 3.30pm

and 11am and 2pm on Sundays.

Tickets cost £5 per person and £16 for a group of four.
